FAQs

  • What if it rains?  The Parade will only be postponed or canceled due to extreme weather events...a little rain doesn't stop the show.

  • Where is a good place to watch the Parade?  There are wonderful viewing spots all along the Parade route on Main Street  you truly can’t go wrong! If you’d like to hear the names of the marching groups and bands as they pass, be sure to visit one of our two announcing grandstands: CVS Parking Lot (across from the Community House) and In front of Degnan House near Eagle Rock Avenue.  Both locations offer a fantastic vantage point to enjoy the excitement and listen to for your favorite group or band as they march by!

  • Will there be food along the Parade Route? Yes! There are several restaurants and convenience stores located along Main Street where you can grab food and refreshments during the Parade. Please note: Any street food vendor wishing to operate along the route must obtain a permit through the West Orange Health Department at (973) 325-4120. The West Orange St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, Inc is not involved in, nor responsible for, any food vendor operations.

  • Where can I go to the restroom? Portable restrooms are located in the Parking of Town Hall at 66 Main St. and Quigley's Parking lot on Main St. and Harris Ave.

  • Can I just "show up" on Parade Day with my group/organization and march? Unfortunately, no. The Parade requires months of planning and coordination to ensure a safe and well-organized event for everyone involved. Our Adjutant staff works diligently to place all participants in the appropriate divisions to create a smooth and enjoyable marching experience. If your organization would like to participate, we warmly welcome you to apply. Please visit our “Group Form” at the Top of our page to complete and submit the required registration forms.
